Pigalle and more pizza

Tried Pigalle on Charles St. last nite but in a half assed way cuz I'd been at a free food/booze party where I pretty much filled up on tasty treats (crabcakes, rack of lamb, tuna tartare at Felt). But it's impossible to coordinate with this friend so we kept dinner plans. Got there at 7:45 and had to wait about 10 min to sit (no res.). The room's okay, small bar for about 5 people but some of the tables seem set up in a haphazard way. My friend got the filet, haricots verts and potatos which she really liked. I just had a salad w/ roasted pear, nuts and cheese. But it was endive I think or something and not as good as normal greens. Plus the bread was really boring. Got chocolate mousse cake w/ praline ice cream for dessert and that was pretty good. The waitress was nice and let my friend taste two different wines to decide which to order. Cheapest glass was $8.

Tried Via Via and I think I was spoiled by the wonderful pizza at Dish so the salmon/red onion/caper version I got at VV was disappointing. It seemed like the ingredients were kind of thrown on, I think I should have stuck with something simpler. My friend got the meat lasagna which was really meaty, came w/ garlic bread. You order and pay then someone delivers your meal. I'm sure there are probably things I'd like on the menu and everyone was friendly, maybe a good spot if you live in the St. Mary's/Beacon neighborhood.
