So, I know that a pie is generally baked in a shell or a crust of some sort, with one or two crusts.
There are tarts that can be one-layered open-faced, or mini ones that resemble little pies.
A torte seems to often resemble a pie with a different type of crust?
What is the key definition of each of these and how exactly are they different? What makes a treat one and not the other, or can they be both just called differently?
TIA for fixing my confusion!
