Blue Hill at Stone Barns is opening the grounds for Picnic Basket Dining on their patio or on the surrounding grass. It is by pre-paid reservation only. Apparently, spots are selling out quickly. Cost is: $195 per person. www.exploretock.com/bluehillatstoneba...
During a recent visit, we noticed a steady flow of cars lining up for their curated resourcED boxes for take-out. Anyone tried? www.bluehillfarm.com

Eater is reporting a major shake up at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Same for Blue Hill in Manhattan. Dan Barber, executive chef and driving force at Stone Barns since its opening, is stepping aside. According to Chef Barber, the highly-lauded culinary facility is switching to a 'guest chef residency' program. It is an effort to promote more diversity at the restaurant. 'Guest Chefs' will be selected from different backgrounds and bring their unique culinary vision to the kitchen and the public.
Sounds to me like their format will have to change too, if they reopen to full dining in 2021. Reservations were always hard to come by, and a multi-course dinner running up to 25 courses could often start at almost $300 per person. And, easily rise from there.
During the pandemic, Blue Hill has done a big job with their curated 'resourcED boxes' for take-out.
