Pickle board the new cheese board?

NomadicFoodie | Oct 19, 201706:11 PM     2

I recently saw this article and thought the idea was kinda neat. Not sure I would actually omit the cheese, but I like the idea of adding more variety to your usual cheese/charcuterie plate... And I do love a good pickle.

So... Other than the obvious (cucumbers, carrots, cauliflower) What are your favourite things to pickle? What would complement a nice cheese/charcuterie board both in taste and presentation? Thinking fancy cocktail party pickles that are easy to pick at. Do you have any go-to recipes that are a bit above the ordinary?
