So me and the fiance are registered at Williams Sonoma and Sur La Table. That being said we have a hodge podge set of old tired cookware, some All Clad old SS saucepans, Calphalon non stick fry pans and then some other random stuff. We want a nice set of SS cookware and this seems like the perfect opportunity. I personally had my mind made up on the All Clad D5 cookware, but the fiance put a stop to that real fast as she absolutely hates the handles. She prefers a brushed finish instead of the polished finish stainless, but definitely not a deal breaker.
Currently we are looking at the following:
Williams Sonoma ThermoClad SS
La Creuset SS
Zwilling Sensation SS
Sur La Table TryPly
We want and use 8",10",12" skillets, 1.5-2qt and 2.5-3qt saucepan, 4-6qt Saute Pan, 8qt stockpot (preferably with pasta insert). Going to register for everything separately...
Any recommendation on which cookware to go with?
I really like the Demeyere (Zwilling Sensation), but not sure how I will like the shape and height of the sides on the skillets, which feel like what I do 90% of my cooking in... La Creuset has some hideous lids (am I being ridiculous?), Mauviel handles arent the most comfortable, SLT seems nice, but heard they take a while to heat up and I do rpefer a rolled edge on the skillet, and last is the Williams Sonoma, which seems nice, but seems really pricey for being a store made brand (on par with Demeyere and Mauviel pricing)...
Forgot to mention, I have a gas cooktop if it matters in your recommendations...
