Restaurants & Bars

Three family members went for a quick post movie dinner to Picare in San Carlos on Laural St. 3-4 blocks south of San Carlos Ave. We ate lightly, but found the food to be good to very good. My wife had a scallop salad with an excellent sauce. I had the duck with a nice brown sauce and our son had the seafood risotto. That was a little disappointing as it lacked the usual creamy quality and had a strong lemon flavor. The decor was nice, quiet, a little dark. There is a full bar and, though we did not have wine, I looked at their tremendous wine list which was long and ranged from expensive showplace labels to nice well chosen wines in the $30-40 range.
