Phoenix: Chocolate?

ccl1111 | Feb 12, 2008 01:11 PM

I searched for an old Pane Bianco thread to comment on but the wife & I are ADDICTED to the Casa Don Puglisi chocolate that they have there by the register. The first time I bought it, it was just on a whim because....come on $6 for a chocolate bar? I never, ever should have done that. Haven't been able to get it out of my head since.

It's made in Modica, Sicily, looks really cool with an opaque patina and tastes amazing. I also love the the brittle chocolate crumbly texture. I figured I should do some searching on-line & see if there is someplace cheap to pick it up but it's even more expensive on-line! I may have to find the chili flavor they do though.

I guess I just need to find a way to get down to Pane within their 11 - 3 hours. If you haven't tried it, don't. It's very bad for motivation. All we want to do is sit on our couch with this chocolate and a glass of wine.

We also LOVE the Mayan chocolate that they have at iBloom (7th Ave between Indian School & Camelback). Dark chocolate with some chili & a hint of cinnamon. Also perfect with a glass of wine. We first got some on a whim at Vincent's Farmer's Market and have since been driving the extra miles when we can't get to the market on a Saturday. They also have chocolate covered rose petals which I didn't expect to be as yummy as they are.
