I've been fighting a cold or flu for a week...so even though I wasn't going to go in the water, hubby talked me into coming along on a day trip to meet some diving friends down in Carmel. It turned into a beautiful day, so we lingered in the sun a bit long, were late starting back, which is how we found ourselves in the South Bay, suddenly hungry, and not sure where to go.
Hubby, who used to work in the neighborhood in another lifetime, rememebered that co-workers had often headed to El Camino for Pho. We pulled off the 101, and less than two minutes later, found ourselves in front of Pho Thanh Long.
We ordered steamed rolls to start, then I ordered the chicken nooodle soup, with half dark and half white meat. Hubby ordered a large combo rice plate with prawns, beef, pork, chicken and vegies. Diet coke and iced coffee to drink.
I refrained from eating some of hubby's, to try and keep from passing him my germs, but that didn't stop him from sneaking a few bites of my soup before I tasted it...I pulled it away and dug in. The broth was very chickeny, though a bit saltier than I like: but here's the thing: the big chunks of chicken were without question some of the tastiest chicken I've tasted in eons.
Bottom line: if that soup doesn't cure my cold nothing will!
I ended dinner with a Mango/tapioca peal milkshake. Tasty.
Quick, efficient and somewhat brusque but efficient service.
Total for our dinner with tax and tip. along with my shake to go: $24.
Any thing else good to order here?
