Pho Thai Nam on Rt. 202 - review

We went last night to Pho Thai Nam, based on 2 things - the recommendation in topic titled "Dinner within 30 minutes from Ambler or Warminster," and on the yummy smells emanating from the restaurant when I leave Physical Therapy next door. It has been 2 years since we moved here, and my husband has missed the convenience of the Pho75 located 3 miles from our old home. The place is not yet busy - so we were seated right away. The staff was very attentive, and polite, happy to help with the menu if needed - I heard our waitress explaining pho to another couple nearby.
Needless to say DH tried the steak pho, and said it was very tasty. Not the same flavor as Pho 75, but to be expected since it is Thai influenced, not Vietnamese. He had the fried vietnamese pork rolls as an appetizer. They were good too. I had the won ton soup - I ordered the cup, which was actually quite large, and was very good, the wontons seemed home made and fresh. I also had the shredded pork rolls, which I did not care for. That's a personal thing though, nothing wrong with how they made them - just not what I expected. I also had the ginger chicken which was super. A perfect size portion, fluffy rice, crunchy veggies, lovely strips of fresh ginger - I ate every morsel. We were too full to try the desserts recommended by the previous poster, but hopefully next time!
They do not yet have a carry out menu, however if you walk in and order they will wrap it up for take out. We saw several people doing that during our meal.
We are looking forward to going back, I hope that they will soon be busy and prospering.
happy eating!
