I spotted a two-week-old item in the Boston Business Journal about high rents closing Boston restaurants down, including (to my dismay) the Newbury Street outlet of Pho Pasteur.
I know it's kind of Westernized Vietnamese, but that's a loss. It was the only Vietnamese in the Back Bay, and in my view one of the few worthwhile Newbury St dining destinations.
I can always walk over to Chinatown, but I will miss the gloss (and patio) of that spot, which made it a good place to bring my new-to-Vietnamese friends.
