Pho Hut - New Vietnamese in Glendale

RaeRenee | Jan 4, 2008 04:05 PM

I went to Pho Hut just a few days ago with a friend. It's on Brand in a strip of different ethnic restaurants.

I have to say I was *totally* impressed with this place.

The egg rolls were tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary for Vietnamese places.

The Pho Ga was spectacular though. It came with a half-breast of chicken chopped up in it in large slices (so there was no question that there was plenty of meat in it) and the broth was rich and flavorful.

My friend, who is Vietnamese, got a type of Pho with beef and tripe and meatballs, and she said that it was the best pho with tripe that she'd had since her grandmother passed.

I was a bit disappointed that they lacked a pork selection, but that's just because it's a personal favorite of mine, and it really isn't Pho anyway.

All that they do at this restaurant is Pho, to the exclusion of anything else, but they do it well.

We also got free soft drinks because they were offering it as a promotion. Not sure if that's still going on.

Anyway, I thought you all might like to know about this place! :)
