I tried Pho Hoag, a Vietnamese restaurant at Avenue U and East 19th. The menu indicated that there is another branch of this place in Bay Ridge. The food was very nice, although my taste in Vietnamese food runs to the simple: spring rolls and pork in a bed of vermicelli and vegetables does me fine. It was good; the vermicelli was nice and fluffy, the spring rolls were done very well, and the pork was satisfying. I also got an order of summer rolls that were unexceptional, but good. Not necessarily a destination (when you live as far from Avenue U as I do!) but a good place to eat if you're around there.
