I was driving home and noticed something new in Crescent Village. Where the French/Thai restaurant used to be there are now signs that read "Asian Bistro Pho The Good TImes". This is in the same building as Izumi Sushi and Grill.

I stopped my car and starting weeping.

I have been hoping that the Asian people working in the space over the last few weeks would be adding to the Asian food scene in Eugene. And so it looks like someone is going to open a Pho place in Eugene. My food friends and I have long theorized that good pho can only be had in places that have pho in their name. Let's see if that holds true in Eugene.

I have no idea when they are going to open, but I can't wait. I just hope they don't dumb down the pho. I hope they offer the full range of pho and if they're reading this, my favorite is chin, nam, gau, gan, sach. I'm also hoping they will do banh mi, and all the Thit, com, bun, etc. type dishes. I am not an expert on Vietnamese, but I understand there are tons of variations.

This could be a good thing.
