Two months ago I pulled off the 101 to stop at Pho Bel Air after 11pm to pick up a take-out order of pho ga (chicken rice noodle soup) on my way south. Packed carefully with noodles, herb garnishes, and hot soup wrapped separately. However, the quality was poor with dried out white chicken meat and the broth had an annoying candied sweetness and not much chicken flavor.

I'm posting not just as a warning but to ask if there's something better to try here. Or is the popularity of this place based on it staying open until midnight and proximity to the airport?
