Philly native coming back for visit - new spots?

Megan | Jun 20, 2002 03:51 PM

I am currently an L.A. chowhound but was a Rittenhouse Square dweller less than a year ago. I'll be in PHila for almost a week next month and am really excited to have some great dinners. One thing - though I've been trying to keep up on restaurant openings/news in Phila (much to the amusement of my boyfriend who thinks I'm restaurant-obsessed), I am unsure if we should include some new restaurants among our picks (we know about Morimoto and Django though). I hear much of new ones in Northern Liberties, as well as BYO news (of course!). Can anyone help?

For ex., what is the restaurant in the 'burbs opened by the former Le Bec Fin chef? And how is Red Chopstix?

So far, I've planned meals at Alma de Cuba, Avenue B and Django. Probably will hit Tre Scalini, an old favorite of my family. Looking for help to fill out list - many people to see so lots of dinners to plan!

Thanks in advance.
