Philly 'Hound Seeks Recs

My husband and I are coming into town for five days next week and staying at the Hilton in Union Square. I've been reading the SF board for a few weeks and I'm pretty overwhelmed. This board is much busier than Philly's, and I'm having a hard time narrowing stuff down. I hope it's okay to ask for some recommendations.

We are not super high-end eaters - we are lovers of street food, ethnic food, hole in the walls, great pubs, counter restaurants. We love Ethiopian, sushi, cupcakes, arepas, tacos, burritos, really thick milkshakes, and the meat in dough of all countries. We love a good burger, great breakfast, seafood, and meat prepared in a huge variety of ways. Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai - these are all good. Everything but Indian and vegetarian, really. We are not typical tourists; we won't be roaming Fisherman's Wharf or riding tour buses. We are seek and destroy eaters.

Any recommendations for any of the above, or ideas on how to narrow down your excellent board, would be great. We are happy to take public transportation to places (we will not have a car), so recommendations do not have to be confined to the area around our hotel.
