Growing up on LI, the church my family attended had an annual clam chowder and apple pie fund raiser. Strictly by word of mouth, it became a huge event with hundreds of people from outside of the congregation coming in to buy gallons of fresh, hot New England clam chowder and homemade apple pies.
My question is, does anything like this exist in the Philly area? I see plenty of churches, lodges and other organizations advertising beef-n-beers, spaghetti dinners, etc, but are any of them CH-worthy?
For any curious NY Hounds, it was Setauket United Methodist and, no, I don't think they do it anymore.
