Has anyone seen the January issue of Saveur?
Philly is the number one item in the Saveur 100 as the "most underrated food town".
Some examples of local fare/places given include:
The Sansom Street Oyster House, Chinatown, Dimitri's, La Columbe, Termini cannoli and Lacroix.
Thankfully, Tastycakes were omitted...
I think that they could have just as easily not mentioned cheesesteaks but I'm not a native Philadelphian. I do think it is a good town for food however. I am always finding good things in the city that I never know about until I stumble across them or read about them on this board.
