A family member was in town and got a DiBruno's sandwich to take on the plane back to the west coast.
She reported that the man next to her on the plane commented on how he dislikes Philly bread because it is rough and "rips the roof of your mouth". And after eating the sandwich my relative concurred.
Now, I know that a good crispy roll will indeed hurt a bit (the price we pay). But is our Philly Italian bread denser or crispier or rougher than other similar breads? Or is everyone just used to 'soft' hoagie rolls and wonderbread hamburger buns and the like?
