Petsi Pies in Somerville

Helen Rennie | Mar 1, 2004 09:14 AM

We finally have a great pie and tart place in Boston area -- Petsi Pies. The spinach and sausage tart had a flaky tender crust with mouthwatering filling. It reminded me of my favorite bakery in Burgundy. Being able to get a tart like that in Somerville was kind of surreal. The sweet pies were so tempting that we had to try them even though we were full. We got a cherry pie and a pecan pie. The cherry pie filling was made with sour cherries that were bursting with flavor at every bite. The crust was perfectly flaky and crisp, but still tender. In spite of all the cherry juices, there wasn’t even a trace of sogginess. The pecan pie was just perfect – sweet, but not cloying. The pies and tarts change daily based on Renee’s inspiration, but I am sure that no matter what you get at Petsi Pies, you’ll be happy.
