petrosino - a little bit long

Had a lovely dinner here last night - it's kind of a semi elegant and funky place all at the same time. A few design tricks that are actually nice - little moat with floating flowers on the bar - very congenial staff and really good food.

Shared several apps and all the extraordinary desserts, and someone had an entree of roasted salmon and mashed potatos - simple but well done. Had enoki mushrooms wrapped in sardines with golden raisins and mint, walnut crusted scallops with chanterelles and a little caviar, an artichoke and rucola salad with pecorino, a swordfish carpaccio, and
a fabulous inzimino (like cibreo in florence) which is squid, spinach and chickpeas stewed in red wine.

A tasting round of desserts included a budino - a sicilian spicy chocolate custard, a bufala mozzarella cheescake with nutella (these were addictive and my favorites), a white chocolate mousse with orange and something else great that begins with a b, is flan like and surprisingly good but I just can't recall it now. Sad.

So - three people, two bottles of wine and they gave us our desserts (!) came to 60$ pp with a generous tip.
It's a lovely evening out on norfolk and houston.
