I'd like to give a shout out to Petit Robert (Columbus Ave) for another great Christmas dinner. This was the third Christmas dinner we've enjoyed at Petit Robert and they didn't disappoint us. We had a mid afternoon reservation so the restaurant was only moderately busy. They offered a special Christmas menu with about four choices of apps and an equal number of mains plus a chocolate Buche de Noel dessert but the regular Brunch menu was also available.
Started with a well mixed Manhattan followed by their version of French Onion Soup and from the Christmas menu the Chilean Sea Bass with lemon butter sauce and a very tasty mixed assortment of vegetables. For dessert I always have their Tart Tatin which is served with a dollop of Creme Fraiche. I think its one of the best versions of this French classic in Boston. Ended a perfect dinner with glass of Calvados XO.
The service was friendly, festive and professional and room had a nice cozy feel on a snowy Christmas Day. We're now thinking of going back for New Years Day.
