From Pete's Produce --The Best, Sweetest Corn I've Ever Tasted

THIS is a treat!! THIS is what summer is all about!! THIS is nature's candy!! I'm talking about the Mirai corn I bought at Pete's Produce in Westtown (Chester County). It's so tender it hardly needs cooking at all. Unbelievable. We did a side-by-side taste test here at home a few days ago -- I bought three different kinds of corn at Pete's -- one was all white, one was bi-color, and the last was all yellow. I don't remember the names of the other two, but they were all just-picked fresh. The clear winner was the all-yellow Mirai. (

I think Pete's Produce is a gem (and no, I'm NOT related to Pete). In addition to corn, they have a beautiful selection of heirloom and other tomatoes. Also had some super-sweet white nectarines, wonderful watermelon and a cantaloupe that was not as good as I expected. Oh, and as soon as I can figure out what to do with lima beans, I'm going to go back for some of those. I LOVE summer!
