peter luger's: throw me a freakin roll

I went to Luger's today for the first time having wanted to try their burger for a long time (when someone else is paying, I will return for the steak) Now I had heard that they have really tasty onion rolls and I saw them all around me. When I asked our waiter if he could bring us out some (assuming he had forgotten), he apologized and said it was a new policy not to serve the rolls for people having burgers. Now granted this is a small thing but it drives me nuts when restaurants, especially ones like Luger's who aren't exactly strapped for cash and charge an arm and a leg for everything on the menu ($10.95 for out of season tomatoes and onions!!), institute silly policies like that. And it's not like we came in and ordered two glasses of water and a pickle. We had drinks, side orders, etc and ended up with a tab of about $50. Those kinds of rules just serve to alienate the customer. Anyway, the burger was indeed tasty, despite recent negative reports I read. The bacon was also great and I could see my reflection in the grease on the plate. I could've sopped up that grease with one of those mythical onion rolls...
