Right next to Gan Eden (five storefronts from the SE corner of 47?) is a dimunitive Peruvian lady satnding in a doorway with a laundry cart laden with rootsy fare. I've been enjoying her ceviche every Friday for the past two years. At $5 a pop it's not a bad deal. It's pretty tasty too, but I think she needs to add the onions at the last minute. Lately I've been having her pescado al lo macho. It's a whopping serving of fried fish topped with spicy sauce rich with shrimp, squid, mussels and octopus. I like to amp it up with her hot sauce. She does a brisk business; best arrive before 12:30 for the greatest/hottest selection.
There are also a whole string of Ecuadorean woman selling food. I've haven't tried any. Does anyone know anything these other vendors?
