Peruvian in St. Paul...

A little gem in St. Paul...

La Hacienda, in Sibley Plaza on W. 7th, has respectable Mexican and Salvadoran specialties during the week but the reason to go is for the Peruvian food on the weekends.

The Lomo Saltado was fantastic. Papa a la Huancaina was excellent. The Aji de Gallina was good, but not memorable. Crystal beer is not on the menu but the waitress (from Cusco) was so thrilled to talk about Peruvian food with a customer that she let us know about it.

If you call ahead, the owner might whip up some peruvian specialties not on the menu...I asked about Arroz con Pato, the traditional dish of my adopted city, Chiclayo.
Salud
