peruvana beans

what are these beans that have started to show up in the Mexican markets here? How to use (besides plain cooked, with a little ham or chorizo)? They are a light greenish brown, about 1/2 the size and shape of a kidney. Are they from Central America or South America?
I've got a couple of pounds but not sure what to do with them.
