As reported by Ruth, we recently visited Damavand Market in Fremont. I was drawn to the sweets counter, part of which is shown in this photo. To the left on top are the jalebi - that’s the Indian name, I don’t know what the Persians call this free-form fried pastry. They’re $4.50/lb., and two of them, heavy with rosewater and honey syrup, weighed about half a pound.

I had no idea what the other items in the case might be. Help identifying these pastries and making recommendations on what to buy next would be much appreciated. Anyone?
