I think I just had the ideal summer lunch: A BLT with a tomato that was fresh and still warm from the garden, and a perfectly ripe peach. The bacon was thick-cut and right on the cusp between crispy and chewy. The lettuce was a leaf of romaine, and the SF sourdough had a generous slather of mayonnaise.
I've been looking forward to BLTs for months - we don't buy supermarket tomatoes, so I can only have the sandwich while our garden is producing them. I can't claim the peach was home grown, but I picked up several at the farmer's market yesterday, and so far they've all been good.
A good BLT on sourdough is just about my favorite sandwich of all time. What's yours?
