Perfect Place to Live for a Chowhound?

If this has been asked before, I'm sorry.

I hope to settle down (for awhile anyway) and have been thinking about THE perfect place to live in the US (I'd love to include Europe in my search but...).

Specifically looking at food and that which goes around it, I'm looking for some place that:

#1 Has a diverse enough community to allow for a good assortment of ethnic restaurants and possibly groceries as well.

#2 A real fish monger, butcher shop, and/or bakery where I can establish a relationship.

#3 A reasonable mix of prices/styles of restaurants, cafes, and counter service places to fit my mood.

#4 At least one really good kitchen shop (privately run?). Preferably offering classes on a wide variety of subjects.

What else does my town need? Is there a place in the US that is even close to "my town"?

I love San Francisco but don't want my home to sink into the ocean one day. New York City and Philadelphia are just a little too intense and crowded (I need a garden in my backyard). Minneapolis/St. Paul is just too darn cold!

Is it all a dream?
