Pepe's Taco Truck - Santa Ana

oc climber | Oct 18, 2005 12:00 PM

After hearing of the disturbing ruling in Santa Ana last night, I dedided to make a b-line to Pepe's.

The ruling basically states that all vendor trucks must move every 90 minutes, meaning I won't know where Pepe has parked his taco truck starting in Feb.

Off for tacos, mucho tacos.

I went for a couple of fish and a couple of shimp tacos. Pepe has a very light batter that they are then deep fried and crisped in. Good and light. Both are served with a lime/mayo based sauce and cabbage. Outside, Pepe has three types of sauces, one I've only found here.

It is a red onion and red translucent liquid that is HOT on the scale of mild to "OH CHIT". This stuff is so good.

I took home a tub of ceviche. Pepe's ceviche is more of a white type, although not completely white. The fish is fresh and tendor and the overall texture of the vegi's was still nice and crisp.

Good stuff.
