Peet's Coffee - is the quality slipping? Long

Jane | Jan 27, 200302:39 PM

Let me start by saying that my husband and I have been loyal Peet's drinkers for as long as I can remember. Major Dickason's Blend is our brew of choice. We even bring it with us when we travel so as not to have to suffer drinking an inferior brew. The quality has always been perfect.

However, we have had 4 bad pounds of it in the past two weeks. The coffee has tasted extremely bitter and didn't resemble the Major Dickason's blend we love in any way.

The four pounds we've obtained came from several different sources - 2 from different Peet's locations and 2 from Peet's directly (we called Customer Service to see if they had changed anything and they said they didn't know, but graciously sent us two complimentary pounds). We have sampled coffee brewed from each of these four pounds and it's all been extremely bitter. The coffee taken from each of the bags also differs significantly in color.

So my question is, has anyone else experienced anything similar? If not, does anyone have any suggestions on a replacement coffee ? Thank you.
