Went to Peerce's for dinner last night. It seemed like a really sad place. There were maybe 10 tables of diners. The food was pretty good, but the menu seemed a little strange to me, like they were trying to tart up some of the old recipes. I had a delicious shrimp bisque, a veal and crab with tomato beurre blanc sauce and creme brulee (v good). My friend had caesar salad, stuffed rockfish and the creme brulee. She had a coupon for one free entree. Most of the other customers had the same coupon from a valpak mailing. Peerce's was a long-time family celebration place and I was happy when they reopened several years ago. I ate there once shortly after the reopening and it was great. They need customers.
