Peeled, cooked chestnuts

Many hounds love chestnuts, but have fingers scarred or burned from peeling chestnuts shells.

I found multiple brands of cooked, peeled chestnuts - ready to eat - at Chinese groceries on Clement Street. For example, the Liyuan brand is 5.28 ounces at a little over $1. These chestnuts are imported from China. I have no idea how they get the shells off so neatly.

The chestnuts have good flavor and are moist, though darker than they would if you roasted them yourself.
