I was in Barcelona last summer and visited the massive Mercat St. Josep. I stumbled upon a fish/shellfish/mollusk vendor who was selling an odd-looking creature that he called "Pecebe." They looked like individual green and orange fingers with a flat, almond-like claw at one end and a suction-like cup on the other end. Some were connected to each other at the suction end. I have looked in several gourmet guides and can find no definition for "pecebe," or any description of a like-looking sea creature. But it's been driving me nuts. I have to find out what this thing is, and how it's prepared. It was, I think, the oddest thing I have ever seen sold as food. Any ideas?
