So I don't like nuts of any kind, particularly pecans and walnuts, but I love the gooey pie filling surrounding the pecans in pecan pie. I was wondering what would happen if I made a pecan pie recipe but merely left out the pecans. Would the custardy filling not set up right? I know there are certain brownie recipes to which nuts are essential, and if the nuts are removed, the browines don't turn out as well. I tried to google search a recipe with the same ingredients as pecan pie without the pecans, but I didn't really turn up anything.
Any advice will be appreciated!
