Peasant, Savoy, Veritas, Hearth (b-day dinner)....?

It's my husband's birthday soon, and I want to take him out for dinner. Thinking of the three above places, but can't decide between them (I'm also open to other suggestions). Outside of the obvious good food requirement, I'd like someplace that's not too loud (it doesn't have to be particularly "romantic" though). I only went to Peasant once, but I remember it being way too loud. Is it still like that? I'm trying to not spend too much more than $100 pp, and I'd rather keep it in the EV/Soho/LES areas. I know Veritas would, after wine, be a little more than 200 pp, but I'm not adverse to that (plus I like that their wine list is so varied that you don't have to spend $100 to get something decent). Any opinions?
