New owners. Many of the same dishes. Several new dishes. Food still good but not even close to what it was. Ribs are now thinner and skimpier. Parts of the ribs were overdone. That shouldn't be since barbecuing involves a process of long, slow, cool smoking which would evenly distribute the cooking to all parts of the meat. Waitstaff is young and very inexperienced. The waitress at Pearson's was great. Specials included rib steak and strip steak (not traditionally barbecued cuts), revealing the management's ignorance of the tradition of American Barbecue.
Going to Pearson's was like going to church for me. Now that Joe Shanghai Elmhurst is closed and Pearson's is gone, 2 of my 3 faves (Sriphaphai being the 3rd) are out of my life. I'm crying right now.
