I bought some Pearl "Kountry Klub" all-beef natural casing hot dogs for my BBQ today. The last time I had them was like 8 months ago. Both times, I bought them from Market Basket.
Whenever I've had them in the past, they had a nice snap to them, since they've got a nice intestinal natural casing.
Tonight, I grill up a bunch, and we can't even bite our way through the casing! We can chew through the insides but the casing stays in the mouth like a wad of balloon scraps. Is this some kind of extra-thick collagen casing or what? What is going on?
