Peach Farm oysters with Black Bean sauce

stopped in for a small apetizer on a rainy Saturday and ordered the steamed oysters with black bean sauce for the 2nd time (ever). These were some of the biggest oysters I have seen ... perhaps that was part of the problem. The first time I tried them, they were smaller and the steaming didn't ... kill their taste so much. These were bland and over-steamed I think, plus the sauce was more gritty than last time. I couldn't even eat all 6. Personally, I prefer raw oysters anyway, maybe that also was the problem. I enjoyed them the first time but not so much this time. As I was not positive they were not supposed to be cooked to that degree and I was kind of in a hurry, I didn't send them back since the hot & sour soup was enough to satisfy my immediate hunger.

While not served steamed on the 1/2 shell, I think I might prefer Taiwan Cafe's oysters in black bean sauce (more of a soup with plump oysters). Sauce is somewhat salty, but I really like it. Plus it goes well with rice.

As a caveat, I did eat around 3ish when NO ONE else was there, perhaps the sauce/oysters were leftover from lunch crowd.
