Peach Farm Geoduck Sashimi

I made it over to Peach Farm Seafood for the hot and salty soft shell crabs and geoduck sashimi. Although the crabs seem to win the raves on this board, I was partial to the sashimi.

Geoduck is a very large clam. Geoduck sashimi is thin slivers of the clam served over ice cubes to maintain it's freshness and coolnees as you eat it. And, other than a little soy and wasabi on the side, that's it. But, oh, what a combination of flavors. The clean, oceany flavor of the clam was reminiscent of a Pacific Northwest oyster. I was suprised to find that it went perfectly with the sweet soy sauce and the gentle kick of the wasabi. In short, one of the more memorable dishes I've had in quite a while.

We did have a language barrier issue when ordering it. The waiter knew what we wanted but kept suggesting that something else came with (or was meant to come with) the geoduck sashimi. It sounded like he was saying "geoduck soup", but that could be completely wrong as we were having a great difficulty understanding him. Any thoughts on this?
