I am writing a freelance article about dou miao, a Chinese vegetable which could also be called pea shoots or pea greens.
If anyone can help me on the following points, I'd appreciate an e-mail:
1) there are "big" pea shoots and "small" ones. I think the big ones come from the actual pea-in-the pod plant. I have been told that the small ones are a different plant -- but which?
2) where and how has anyone eaten/bought them? I know they are available in Manhattan, California, and Rockville (Maryland), but usually only by request or reading the Chinese menu.
