Friend was in town this weekend hacking at a golf tournament at Heron Lakes. One of the few close places for lunch on a Sunday was Yam Yam's, so we headed over for their buffet ($13). They only have ribs available on the first Sunday, but they did have some smothered pork chops and meatloaf that were very good. The meatloaf was very meaty and much like you'd get in a good cook's home. They had a "red gravy" that looked housemade that they put over the top. The chop was ultra-tender -- no knife needed at all -- and tasty. The gravy they were smothered had a good flavor, not at all tasting like something from a packet or can. Many of their standards were also available, like the mac and cheese, the greens, the yams, fried chicken, corn bread, and so on.
Talking with the owner, it looks like they're going to start a weekday lunch buffet for $7. He's working on what the menu will be, but he's planning on having ribs available once a week. $7 for Yam Yam's all-you-can-eat sounds like a fantastic deal.
