PDX-For what it's worth, a bad Wildwood meal

drdawn | May 1, 200601:40 AM

One bad meal does not necessarily qualify it for 'overrated', but just for the record I had a seriously bad main course there the other night. 'Pacific Marlin' was promised to come out rare to medium rare, but was cooked all the way through and overdone on the edges, the preserved lemon sauce (v salty) really should not have been put with an equally salty pancetta (of course the dry fish did nothing to balance it out), and the promise of 'carmelized potatoes' turned out to be fried potatoes-nothin' fancy (menu liberties irk me...). Starter and afters were okay; my dining companions did not have any complaints about their food.

Was my first time there; not itching to head back. Perhaps if you avoid the marlin you're fine.
