[PDX] Tutto Bene Gelato

extramsg | Dec 23, 2005 03:24 AM

Tried a gelato place, Tutto Bene, while perusing the upscale open mall Bridgeport Village for Christmas gifts.

I thought it was pretty good. The textures were very nice. Creamy and no noticeable ice crystals. They use the spades rather than scoops if that's important to you. Quite similar to Via Delizia's textures.

Flavors are not as intense as the best around town, but not far off. Some, of course, are moreso than others. And if you get a bit of the toppings that are there for the displays, that kicks up the flavors. They had two seasonal flavors, gingerbread and eggnog, in addition to maybe a dozen typical gelato flavors. They were two of the more intense flavors I tried.

I got two flavors in a small cup for $2.75. It was heaped up pretty high, though. They also had paninis, croissants, coffee, and other such things.
