Oh, dilemma! We have a sort of pre-wedding dinner coming up with about 16-20 folks descending from out of town. The future hubby's dad is picking up the tab, and he is a generous sort, but we don't want to make him faint, so we're hoping for ~14 as median entree price.
The tricky part is, we've got some old-school folks in the crew whose ideas of fine dining involve prime rib, T-bones, and not much else. So we're looking, essentially, for a close-in (downtown, SE, NW, no B-ton) restaurant that meets these criteria:
1. Can handle a larger party without food quality going down the tubes
2. Offers some, shall we say, safe choices for the less adventurous in our party
3. Offers at least some local and interesting items for those who enjoy them
4. Carries a reasonable selection of wines by bottles and glasses
We're a little stymied, as *we* tend to eat at small plate and late night joints, like Taqueria Nuevo, Navarre, Fernando's, etc. Any ideas, anyone?
