[PDX] Authentic Mexican besides Cafe Azul...

Nick | Jan 21, 2003 01:53 PM

Are there any full restaurants (ie, not just taquerias) in Portland that have a good selection of authentic Mexican dishes? A place with a variety of moles, pozoles, a variety of tamales, enchiladas with sauces that taste like chiles not like tomatoes (and without cheddar), etc, etc. Preferably stuff made from scratch. Mexican home-cooking is what I'm looking for.

There are some excellent taquerias out there and Cafe Azul is a very good, but expensive option. Anything else?

btw, I'd be interested in any other authentic Central or South American places, too. I like Portland's Mexican food, but it's sorely lacking in non-Mexican Latin-American food. (Already familiar with Brasilia and Pambiche.)
