[PDX] Alma Chocolates...

extramsg | Jan 29, 200603:31 AM

Some here may be familiar with Alma Chocolates from the farmers markets. They just opened a shop on NE 28th between Tabla and Taqueria Nueve. Stopped by today and took some pictures and picked up some tasty treats.

One of the highlights is the designs, often religious-oriented molds like buddhas and saints artistically coated in gold. But the chocolates and truffles are interesting and good as well with flavorings like rosemary and chiles. There was also a white chocolate and mango. The toffee with nuts, chocolate, and ginger was piquant and delicious. I think most chocolates/truffles went for $2 each.

It's a cute little place, just a padded window bench, nowhere else to sit down. No coffee or anything, just chocolates. A good addition to the area and I'll be glad to be able to get their stuff anytime now.
