Tomorrow is my first payday as a worker bee in Manhattan. I hope to sneak away for a celebratory lunch and realized it was the last day of RW.
I work at 6th and 44th near Bryant Park. Is there somewhere walking distance or a short train ride?
French or New American preferred, Italian is often my go-to, so not high on the priority list. I perused a couple of menus, but could use some input from the 'hounds. Craftbar menu looks nice, and I've been meaning to try Eleven Madison and Fleur de Lis. Unfortunately being new, I have no idea how long it will take to get to/from any of these places. What about Maze (is that the name?) Oh, and dessert isn't a priority either, unless there's a worthwhile cheese plate instead of sweets.
If all else fails, I can always splurge for the lamb pita from the Kwik cart at 45th and 6th. Man those falafels are good - and the mini chicken roll that I tried today. Take a grilled hot dog bun (think lobster roll) then top it with shredded lettuce, flavorful grilled chicken (thigh meat) and that sauce. all for $2.25!
