How terrible! This was one of the few places on Long Island where you could get first-class pastries and a Manhattan-quality meal. I'll really miss it.
I don't doubt Atkins is partially to blame for the failure. The shoppers at the Americana mall are just not the type to indulge in Payard goodies.
I also think management failed to market the place successfully. They should have had ice cream during the warm weather. It would have brought in afternoon shoppers and parents, and they would have been hooked by the quality of the product.
